Malin was founded in 1995 by a former soldier and lifelong adventurer, who experienced a variety of extreme weather conditions whilst in Scandinavia, Africa and Latin America.
His knowledge of these environments left him dissatisfied with the available all-weather equipment that was available.
This led him to join up with some of the most experienced coat manufacturers in the country, with the sole aim of designing the ultimate outdoor coat.
When he discovered Ventile, a 100% natural cotton fabric used by RAF servicemen during the Second World War, he knew he was nearly there.
He spent several years refining his design to create the Malin coat we are proud to offer today.
Since then we have continued to put our Malins under as much duress as possible - looking for any weaknesses and areas for improvement. This testing has resulted in the evolution of a coat which is unsurpassable. It is durable, reliable and a trustworthy companion for the outdoorsman.
